Romantic relationships can either contribute to great happiness or great sorrow, in most of our lives.  Are you one who has a deep desire to bond with someone who is your ideal counterpart?

2. Passion – It’s either there or it’s not!  This is not an area where we can “pretend it doesn’t matter” or that it will get better in time.  You may have a beautiful friendship but without the charm of that special spark of sexual attraction and compatibility, it’s no use trying to trick your mind into believing that the lack of this type of energetic connection will change or improve over time. The Venus/Mars connections, or Venus/Venus connections between two charts make all the difference there.

3. Friendship – This element IS also important in a marriage or union (in addition to passion).  When I examine two people’s charts, it is clear to me if it is there, or instead, its nemesis: competition.  Let’s leave the competitive spirit in the Olympics or sports contests, for it has no place in a friendship or marriage and has ruined many of both.

4. Shared Life Interest or Life Work – This takes a couples’ attention to a higher realm of a combined contribution to the planet, to mankind, to the betterment of one’s society, country or life on Earth.  The inner satisfaction of working as a team, on a project or mission that is “bigger than both of us” expands both hearts and lifts the boat of your relationship to sail out in the tide of the larger Sea of Life and feel in the flow of a higher purpose.  This could be a joint volunteer effort, something you enjoy doing together in your spare time, or an actual vocational calling in which you work together daily.
